Lake Livingston Fishing Report Feb. 21,2005

The lake level is at 131.12 Just slightly above normal with most areas reporting the water dropping this past week. T.R.A. is releasing 4,000 cfs. Most of the lake remains off color but is clearing quickly mostly up the creeks.

Good reports of Crappie , Black Bass, White Bass and Catfish have all come in to local marinas recently.

Harmon Creek Marina---Reports clearing water around the marina and down stream with good White Bass being caught recently up Harmon and Caney Creeks. Some crappie are starting to show up around the boat house.

Bethy Creek Marina---reports Crappie fishing has been very good around the boat stall at the marina and also very good fishing for Blue Cats near the Marina on jug lines and rod and reel baited with fresh shad.

Indian Creek Marina ---reports good Crappie fishing in
8‘-10’ of water. Jug line catfish and rod and reel catfish also very good. Black Bass have moved shallow here and are being caught on spinnerbaits.

White Rock City Marina---reports improving conditions with the creek clearing upstream and fishing for Crappie and White Bass rebounding.

Galloways Marina---reports good action for catfish on rod and reel.

Kickapoo Marina ---reports improving conditions with the creek clearing. Crappie are being caught here in 8’-10’ of water. A big Opp. was caught here on a jug line and released. LAKE LIVINGSTON FISHING REPORT MARCH 29 2005

The lake level is at 131.29 with 6 gates open and a release of 6,000 cfs. Fishing has been good out of all Marinas recently prior to the last cold front and is expected to rebound quickly with warming water and a south wind. Good reports of Crappie, Black Bass, White Bass and Catfish have all been coming in. Water temp. Has ranged from 55 to 65 degrees.

Harmon Creek Marina- Crappie fishing good shallow. White Bass good trolling and casting. Black Bass being caught on the nest. The creek is low but water is clear. Bethy Creek Marina - Crappie fishing has been excellent in the boat stalls and on the banks around the marina. Catfish are being caught also at the marina.

White Bass have been caught in the river channel casting. Indian Creek Marina Black Bass are being caught shallow. Crappie are in about 8 of water.

White Rock City Marina- Crappie fishing has been very good .

Galloways- Crappie fishing here has been excellent around the bulk heads and in the brush. Crappie are still deeper in White Rock and Caney Creeks. Black Bass to 3.5lbs have been caught recently on  spinnerbaits in the Jungle.

Kickapoo Marina- Good catfish on jug lines and good Black Bass fishing before the front.

Lake Livingston Fishing Report May 2005 David Cox

The lake level is 131.20 with a release of 2,000cfs. Most areas of the lake are clear  with some of the upper creeks muddied after local recent rain.

White Bass fishing is improving on the lower lake, Blacke Bass fishing has been good, catfishing has been excellent. 

Bethy Creek Marina reports good crappie fishing  with minnows and jigs on the pier at the Marina. Blue cats are good near the Marina on fresh shad.  Black Bass fishing has been excellent on spinnerbaits and soft plastic.   

Penwaugh Resort reports limits of White Bass comming in recently. 

Cove Marina reports good fishing for big catfish with a 8lb. 41lb. and 44lb. fish weighed in at the marina. 

Indian Creek Marina reports improving white Bass fishing and excellent catfishin on the bulkheads early and late on fresh shad. 

Galloways Marina has improving crappie fishing in the boat stall.  Excellent catfishing in shallow water and also good Black Bass fishing. 

Harmon Creek Marina  Crappie fishing fair on minnows in 4ft. of water.  Black Bass fishing good, White Bass have been scattered.

Lake Livingston Fishing Report

The lake level is 130.68 with  a discharge of 1000, 00 cfs.

Fishing for catfish, White Bass and Black Bass has been good recently.

Early mornings and late evenings have  been the best times. The lake and most feeder creeks are clear.

White Bass are schooling in mid and lower lake. Quite a few Stripers are being caught. Catfish have been good on jug lines baited with fresh shad

The River channel above the lake is clear and producing good fishing for Black Bass in the log jams on june bug lizards. White Bass are near the cuts in the river and are taking deep diving crank baits.

Bethy Creek Marina has had excellent fishing for Black Bass with the best bite early on buzz baits. Blacks are also taking crank baits and soft plastic worked near wood and rock.
Cove Marina
has had good fishing for catfish on trot lines and Black Bass to 5lbs. on soft plastic.
Indian Creek reports excellent White Bass fishing and fair Black Bass fishing
Galloways Marina reports good fishing with some nice Black Bass being caught in Caney Creek.
White Rock City is good for Black Bass up White Rock Creek in the laydowns.
Penwaugh Resort reports excellent White Bass Fishing.

LAKE  LIVINGSTON FISHING REPORT

Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of 130.81 with a release of 1000,00 cfs. of water at the dam. Good fishing continues all over Lake Livingston with early mornings best due to the heat.  The lake remains clear with good fishing for White Bass, Black Bass and Catfish.  No report on Crappie.  Some good Black Bass have come out of White Rock Creek The river Channel and several of the creeks on the northern end of the lake.  190 road bed and Pine Island remain good for White Bass.  Some good catches of Blue Cats have been comming in on jugs from the lower lake . 

Bethy Creek Marina :  Good fishing for Black Bass early morning on topwater  and midday on soft plastic fished in brush piles around boat houses and cut banks.

Cove Marina:  Trot line fishing has been steady for Blue Cats.  Black Bass are being caught on shallow running crank baits and soft plastic fished around the cattails, laydowns and rock near creek channels.  White Bass are being caught by trolling the river channel and running deep diving crank baits in the cuts off the river channel.

Galloways Marina:  Good Black Bass fishing around the boat houses  with brush piles.  Also, some fish being caught off the points in White Rock and Caney Creeks on shallow diving crank baits  and Bearpaws red shad stick baits Texas rigged.

White Rock City:  Has good Black Bass  to 5lbs. on spinner baits up the creek.

Penwaugh Marina:   Continued good White Bass Fishing on jigged slabs and trolled pet spoons. 

Becon Bay Marina :  Good fishing in the river channel east of Pine Island with some good schooling action mostly late in the evening when the wind lays.

LAKE  LIVINGSTON FISHING REPORT

Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of 130.00 with a release of 1000,00 cfs. of water at the dam. Good fishing continues all over Lake Livingston with early mornings best due to the heat.  The lake remains clear with good fishing for White Bass, Black Bass and Catfish.  No report on Crappie.  Some good Black Bass have come out of White Rock Creek The river Channel and several of the creeks on the northern end of the lake.  190 road bed and Pine Island remain good for White Bass.  Some good catches of Blue Cats have been coming in on jugs from the lower lake .

Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of  126.70’ with a release of 1000.00 cfs. at the dam.

The lake is clear in all areas with excellent fishing being reported  for all species  of game fish and catfish.

Boat launches are open at Bethy Creek Resort and the hwy 19 bridge on the north end of the lake and at Becon Bay marina on the south end of the lake. 

Bethy Creek Resort has had excellent fishing for Crappie in the deep holes on minnows and jigs. White Bass, catfish and Black Bass are all being caught near Bethy Creek Resort .

Becon Bay Marina has had excellent fishing for Stripers and White Bass.

Some good fish are being caught in the Pine Island area.

Petes camp at Bedias creek has reports of excellent crappie fishing “all up and down the creek” 

Cat fishing in the river channel has been excellent on the north end of the lake.  Trot linners jug fishermen , rod and reel anglers have all been taking blue cats on fresh shad.  The major cuts in the river channel are all holding fish.  A big Op. was taken on rod and reel at the mouth of Harmon Creek.

The Lake level is about 126.51feet above sea level, that is about 5’ low.

The Trinity River Authority is releasing 1,250 cfs.  The water temp. has been around 70 degrees in the afternoons.   

The main lake is clear and backs of the creeks are clear.  Some parts of the river are off color due to wind and wave action.   

Crappie fishing has been the top draw lately with good reports of fish being caught at 5’depth all around the lake. 

High Fin Blues have been doing good on frozen shad frozen shrimp and worms.

Some big Ops have been caught recently on rod and reel fishing with live perch. 

White Bass fishing reports on the main lake are scattered.  Some schooling fish are being caught in the afternoons on days when the wind lays.

 Black Bass are reported to have been caught recently up to 31/2 lbs.

Beathy Creek Resort

Randall Vincent Reports good Crappie fishing at the boat stall. Good catfish on frozen shrimp near the marina and in the river channel.

 

Penwaugh Resort

Good fishing here for catfish on shad, good White Bass on crank baits and some nice Crappie starting to show.  Black Bass good here up to 31/2 lbs.

 

White Rock City

Good Crappie fishing up the creeks and a few White bass being taken.

 

Broken Arrow

Crappie are biting good here with limits of fish caught on minnows at 5’.

Broken Arrow reports that this is the best fishing here “ever”.

The main lake is clear, river channel is off color due to recent rain, backs of the creeks are off color. Some parts of White Rock and Kickapoo Creek are clear.

Crappie fishing has been the top draw lately with good reports of fish being caught at 5’depth all around the lake.

High Fin Blues have been doing good on fresh shad. frozen shrimp and worms.

Lake Livingston Fishing Report March 22nd, 2006

The Lake level is at 127.02 feet above sea level, that is about 4’low.
The Trinity River Authority is releasing 5,250 cfs. Water temp. has been 58-70 degrees recently.

The main lake on the south end has fishable clear water. The river channel on the north end is clearing and fishable but is expected to become off color in a few days with fresh water coming down from recent rains in the Dallas area.

Fishing has been excellent on upper lake, mid lake and lower lake.
Crappie, Catfish, White Bass, Black Bass and Strippers have all been good for spawning fish. White Bass are on their annual spawning run up the Trinity north of Lake Livingston with quite a few big females being caught recently.

Penwaugh Marina - Harry Dehtan reports “Crappie good on minnows in 1.5’to 2’ of water. White Bass have been good but are hit and miss. Catfish have been excellent for jug liners and rod and reel fishermen on the sand bars with fresh cut shad. Black Bass are on the Banks spawning and will take a variety of baits.” Harry also reported taking a 9lb. Stripper himself recently.

White Rock City - Good Crappie and White Bass fishing recently. The creek turned a little off color due to runoff from local rain but should clear back up quickly.

Broken Arrow - Excellent Crappie up the creek recently.

Browders - Strippers schooling on the main lake recently, White Bass good on the humps. Fishing for spawning Blue Cats has been excellent recently off sand bars on the main lake for jug liners and rod and reel fishermen. Browders reports the best fishing here the past couple of months that they have seen in 20yrs.

Indian Creek Marina - Cat fishing best with fishing good for Black Bass .

Freedom Shores Marina (formerly Galloway’s) - Linda reported excellent fishing for big Ops in the 20lb. to 40lb. class with fish taking live perch on trot lines. Linda also reported good fishing for Blue Cats up to 28lb.s on fresh shad. Crappie fishing in the boat stalls at Freedom Shores has been good with fish up to 2 1/2lbs taking live minnows and jigs 2’-3’ down.


Beacon Bay Marina - Reports good crappie fishing in the boat stalls and excellent fishing for spawning Blue Cats on the sand bars.

Beathy Creek Resort - Excellent Crappie fishing in the boat stalls. Good fishing for Blue Cats on frozen shrimp at the marina. Good Black Bass fishing on soft plastic. Excellent fishing in the river for spawning Whites on Bear Paws chartreuse ribbed shad rigged on 1/8th oz jig head and ¼ oz. blue hologram rattle traps .
Some big Whites also caught recently on medium diving chartreuse crank baits.

Harmon Creek Marina and Resort - Excellent Crappie fishing in Harmon Creek. White Bass fishing has been good in Harmon with a lot of males being caught and a few big females. White Bass Fishing for Spawning females has been good in the river when the water clears.

REPAIRS TO THE LAKE LIVINGSTON DAM HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

The lake level is at 127.12 feet above sea level that is about 4 feet low. The Trinity River Authority is releasing 1000,cfs. of water at the dam. The water temp. has been 72 to 78 degrees around the lake. The main lake on the south end has clear water. Mid lake is clear and the river channel on the north end is now clear.
Fishing has been good all over the lake with local Marinas reporting excellent action for catfish, Crappie and White Bass.

Penwaugh Marina - Harry Dehtan reports excellent action for Blue Cats, 12 to 24” early morning shallow on fresh shad fished under a cork. Trot line action is also good for catfish. Crappie good and White Bass good . Black Bass fair.

White Rock City Marina - reports the creek is clear and good crappie fishing on minnows with some good ones being caught.

Broken Arrow Marina - reports the creek is clear and good fishing for catfish and crappie.

Browders - good catfish early on the rocks White bass good in the river and a few Stripers being caught.

Indian Creek marina - Crappie good shallow on minnows and jigs, catfish are good shallow on fresh shad.

Cove Marina - excellent trot line fishing and good Crappie fishing in the area.

Freedom Shores (formerly Galloways) - reports excellent fishing for Crappie in the boat stalls on minnows and jigs. White Bas fishing good around Goat Island. Catfishing good off the bank on fresh shad and several big Ops in the 40 - 60lb. Class being caught recently on trot lines. The 60lb. Fish was caught by a canoeist.

Beathy Creek Resort - Excellent Crappie fishing in the boat stalls, good Blue cats near the marina, some good Black Bass also being caught.

Harmon Creek Marina and Resort - water is clear with excellent fishing for Crappie on jigs in the brush tops, a few Black Bas have been taken and also White Bass in the cut banks.

T.R.A. reports a lake level of 128.43’ above sea level with a discharge of 1000cfs.

The lake has risen about a foot in the past month with repairs complete at the dam.

Lower lake mid lake and upper river areas are all holding clear water with good fishing reports coming in from around the lake.   A possible new lake record White Bass was reported taken recently out of Browders on the lower lake.

 

Harmon Creek Marina and Resort - Excellent Crappie fishing recently up Harmon.  Some schooling action for White Bass early in the morning.  White Bass are holding in deep holes in the creek.  Black Bass fishing fair on Bearpaws June Bug Salamander.

 

Penwaugh Marina - Harry Dehtan reports excellent action for White Bass recently with limits of fish biting on jigged slabs.  Blue Cat fishing is good, crappie fishing fair and Black Bass fair.

 

White Rock City Marina - Crappie good in the creek, a few White Bass being caught and no report on Black Bass.

 

Broken Arrow Marina - Black Bass fishing is good on spinner baits in the creek fished near freshly flooded grass. 

 

Browders -  Reports good white Bass fishing here with a possible lake record being weighed in.

 

Indian Creek Marina - Blue Catfish good early in the morning.  Good Black Bass fishing up the creek.

 

Beathy Creek Resort - Good Crappie in the boat stalls early and late. Black Bass good up to four pounds early on top waters and spinner baits fished around freshly flooded grass.  Change to soft plastic in the grass after the sun gets up.  Some schooling action on White Bass reported here. 

 

Cove Marina - Reports excellent catfish on trotlines.  Good White Bass and Black Bass fishing also reported coming out of Carolina Creek

 

Freedom Shores (formerly Galloways) -  Hayden Colby reports excellent action for Crappie recently coming out of Caney Creek, also good Black Bass up to five pounds taking crank baits, spinner baits and soft plastic fished around rocks, docks, and wood in White Rock Creek and Caney Creek.

Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of 127.02 with a release of 1000cfs at the dam.  Water temperature has been around 80 - 89 degrees .Some of the upper reaches of the creeks were slightly off color due to recent rains.  Mid lake and lower lake areas remain clear.  Fishing has been good all over the lake with local marinas reporting good action for White Bass, Catfish , Crappie and Largemouth Bass. 

Penwaugh Marina - Harry Dehtan reports excellent fishing for White Bass and catfish.  “White Bass have been schooling under the birds,”  reports Harry.  Crappie and Black Bass fishing has been fair out of Penwaugh.  

 Bethy Creek Marina - Randall Vincent senior reports excellent crappie fishing around the boat stalls and in Bethy Creek. 

Harmon Creek Marina and Resort -  Black bass fishing has been good in Harmon Creek and in the river on log jams.  

White Rock City - A few Crappie are being caught.

 Sandy Creek Marina - Excellent fishing here for White Bass under the Birds and on jigging slabs.  Also, excellent fishing for Blue Cats on fresh shad  fished shallow on jugs and rod and reel. 

Broken Arrow Marina - Reports excellent Black Bass fishing with several 3-4lb. fish and one over six lbs. brought in recently.  The fish are biting on soft plastic in watermelon and hot pink colors and white spinner baits fished up the creek near the edges of  freshly flooded grass lines.

 Freedom Shores Marina - (formerly Galloways) - Has good fishing recently for Black Bass off rocky points,  grass lines and lay downs.  Most fish are taking spinner baits and soft plastic.  Also, some good catches of blue Cats have been coming in.

Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of 128.32 with a release of 1000cfs of water at the dam. Surface water temperature is around 90degrees. All regions of the lake remain clear with good fishing. White Bass and catfish remains excellent on mid lake and lower lake areas.
Whites are being caught in good numbers around Pine Island, Walker Lake, the 190 Road Bed and off the river channel in 7-8ft. of water.
Some good Black bass are taking soft Plastic and spinner baits around freshly flooded vegetation.

Bethy Creek Marina - Reports a six lb. catfish was taken on rod and reel recently off the point at the marina. Also, some excellent crappie are still being caught early in the boat stalls. Scattered White Bass have been caught in the creek and a few good Blacks have been caught under the deeper boat houses with brush piles.

Harmon Creek Marina and Resort - Some good Blacks have been caught on soft plastic in the brush in deeper holes in Harmon Creek.

White Rock City - Some crappie coming and a few scattered Black Bass.

Penwaugh Marina - Has excellent fishing for White Bass and Catfish. Catfish are being caught on jugs on fresh shad and rod and reel on fresh chicken livers fished off structure. White Bass are biting on jigged slabs and trolled spoons off humps in 7-8ft. Of water with deeper water near.

Sandy Creek Marina - Has excellent fishing for catfish and White Bass. Most of the catfish being caught early on fresh shad fished with jugs or rod and reel.

Broken Arrow Marina - some good Black Bass are being caught in freshly flooded grass on spinner baits and soft plastic.

Freedom shores Marina - (formerly Galloways) - Some good strings of Blue cats have come in recently caught on fresh shad in White Rock Creek. Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of 127.5 with a release of 1000cfs of water at the dam.
Surface water temperature is around 95 degrees. All regions of the lake remain clear with good fishing.
White Bass and catfish remains excellent on mid lake and lower lake areas.
Whites are being caught in good numbers around Pine Island, Walker Lake, the 190 Road Bed and off the river channel in 7-8ft. of water.
Some good Black bass are taking soft Plastic and spinner baits around freshly flooded vegetation.

Bethy Creek Marina - Reports a six lb. catfish was taken on rod and reel recently off the point at the marina. Also, some excellent crappie are still being caught early in the boat stalls. Scattered White Bass have been caught in the creek and a few good Blacks have been caught under the deeper boat houses with brush piles.

Browders 3728 Marina reports excellent catfish below the dam and excellent White Bass around Pine Island.

Harmon Creek Marina and Resort - Some good Blacks have been caught on soft plastic in the brush in deeper holes in Harmon Creek.

White Rock City - Some crappie coming and a few scattered Black Bass.

Penwaugh Marina - Has excellent fishing for White Bass and Catfish. Catfish are being caught on jugs on fresh shad and rod and reel on fresh chicken livers fished off structure. White Bass are biting on jigged slabs and trolled spoons off humps in 7-8ft. Of water with deeper water near.

Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of 127.38 with one gate open at the dam and a release of 1000cfs. The lake received over 3 inches of rain recently that muddied up several of the creeks and got the Blue Cats Moving. Excellent reports came in from Harmon Creek, Kickapoo Creek and White Rock for Blues after the rains. The lake is in great shape with good fishing reports coming in from all around the lake. The Lake is now full of much needed vegetation provided by mother nature following the draw down as a result of the hurricane last year. We are seeing a new Lake Livingston and things are looking good for the future. This year could be one of the best duck seasons ever. Teal hunting was excellent in the early September season with many limits taken by area duck hunters.

Freedom Shores Marina - Excellent fishing for Blue cats recently on fresh shad up White Rock Creek. Good Largemouth Bass taken recently off letdowns and rocky points on Cavitron buzz baits early and Bear Paws soft Plastic. White Bass are scattered.

Bethy Creek Marina - Excellent Crappie fishing here recently on jigs, blue Cats good on jug lines, some action for schooling White Bass.

Harmon Creek Marina - Excellent action for Blue Cats here in Harmon Creek on fresh peeled shrimp following the recent runoff in the creek from the rains.

White Rock City - Catfish good on trot lines baited with fresh cut shad. The creek is off color at White Rock City.

Broken Arrow Marina - Nearly 4 inches of rain reported here recently. Cat fishing was excellent following the rain. Large mouth Bass fishing has been good for fish up to four pounds taken in freshly flooded grass on white spinner baits and black lizards.

Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of 131.2 with a release of 750 cfs. Surface water temperature has been ranging from the 56 to 61 degrees. Parts of the lake are off color and others clear. There has been some excellent fishing recently up the creeks. Duck hunting has been good for Mallards and Wood Ducks.

Bethy Creek Marina - has had some good Crappie fishing in the boat stalls and in the creek across from the marina on jigs and live minnows.

Cove Marina - Reports good catfish on trot lines, good White Bass recently and some good Strippers being brought in. Duck hunting has also been good out of Cove Marina.

White Rock City - Some good Crappie and White bass have come in here recently. The water in the creek at White Rock City Marina is clear.

Sandy Creek - Reports good Crappie fishing and good cat fishing.

Broken Arrow Marina - Reports limits of crappie taken recently and also good fishing for Black Bass.

Indian Creek Marina - Good fishing here for Crappie in the boat stalls and good fishing for catfish on jug lines.

    Trinity River Authority reports a lake Level of 131.03 with a release of 2000, cfs.  Surface water temp. has been between 55-60 degrees.  Lower lake is clear as is most of the creeks and the river channel.  Crappie fishing has been excellent up the major creeks in 12 - 14 ft. of water and around the boat houses at the marinas.  Cat fishing has been good, Black Bass fair.  White Bass are staging for the Spring Spawn.  Duck hunting has been excellent in flooded vegetation for Mallards and Wood Ducks.

 

Bethy Creek Marina - has steady Crappie fishing in the boat stalls, good catfish on jug lines and a few Black Bass taken recently

 

Harmon Creek Marina - good trotline action for Blue Cats and Ops. Over 10lbs. Crappie fair and White Bass will be moving into the upper creek.

 

Cove Marina - reports steady action for Blue Cats on trot lines and fair Black Bass fishing in vegetation and cut banks.

 

White Rock City - has good fishing up white Rock Creek for Crappie on minnows and also some good White Bass coming in.

 

Sandy Creek Marina - reported good fishing for blue cats on trotline and good crappie fishing up Kickapoo Creek.

     Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of 131.54  with a release of 37,000 cfs.  Surface water temperature is around 50 degrees.  The lake is  about a foot high and is settling down after rising  5 feet above normal recently.  Cat fishing with jug lines and rod and reel has been good up the creeks and in the back water recently.  White Bass  are starting to move up the creeks for the annual spawn.  Crappie fishing and Black Bass fishing has been  good in the creeks when the water clears.

Harmon Creek Marina - has had good fishing for catfish up the creeks on fresh peeled shrimp when the water is moving.

131.02  with a release of 26,200 cfs.  Surface water temperature is around 68 - 72 degrees.  The lake level at Riverside is 134’ with fresh water coming down the river from Dallas. Much of the lake is off color now due to recent rains.  Several of the larger creeks are holding clear water.  There has been good fishing recently in the Penwaugh area for White Bass and Large

Mouth.   Crappie fishing, White and Black Bass fishing

has been  good in the creeks. Most of the White Bass have spawned out now.  Trot lining and jug fishing is steady. 

 

Bethy Creek Resort - has had good fishing for Crappie in the boat stalls. and good fishing for catfish near the Marina. Some good Large Mouth Bass have also been taken here recently on spinner baits.

 

Harmon Creek Marina -  water is backing up into Harmon creek now.  Good fishing for White Bass in the creek.

A few good Blacks also being taken on soft plastic and crank baits.

 

Cove Marina - has good fishing for Blue cats on trot lines.  Good fishing for Large Mouth in Thomas lake area on soft plastic.

The Trinity River Authority reports a lake level at 131.15 and a release of 12,000 cfs. Surface water temperature is around 75-79degrees.
Much of the main lake remains off color due to the recent influx of fresh water coming down the Trinity River from Dallas. Most of the major creeks are clear. Crappie fishing has been improving with some good reports coming in from around the lake. Cat fishing has been excellent all over the lake with White Bass good in isolated areas of clear water. Black Bass fishing has also been good in the creeks.

Bethy Creek Resort - crappie and catfish good off the bank near the marina. Cat fishing has been excellent on jug lines out in Bethy Creek.

Harmon Creek Marina and Resort - crappie steady in the brush tops and good white Bass fishing when the water backs up in Harmon from the river. Black Bass fair, catfish good on jugs.

Cove Marina - cat fishing has been outstanding recently in the river and Carolina Creek on rod and reel and jug lines. Some nice Crappie are starting to come in near the marina.

White Rock City - catfish good , Crappie fair

Sandy Creek Marina - White Bass good around Dove Island, a few Crappie being caught up the creek.

The Trinity River Authority reports a lake level of 131.18 with a discharge of 24,000 cfs.

Surface water temperature is around 76-80’. The main lake is “ streaky” with fresh run off from rains to the north coming down the Trinity River channel. Clear areas of the lake have been producing good catches of White Bass, Strippers and Large mouth. White Bass fishing has remained good in the Pine Island, Penwaugh, and Dove Island areas. Large Mouth have been taken recently up the creeks keying on cattails wood and rock.

Catfishing has been good all over the lake and is excellent now in the river Channel at Riverside in moving water. Crappie fishing has been fair around boat houses. Excellent bow fishing in flooded back waters.

Bethy Creek Marina and Resort - Good crappie fishing around the boat stalls and excellent cat fishing in the river channel. Black bass fair on soft plastic.

Harmon Creek Marina and Resort - Good cat fishing on jug lines in the Harmon Creek flats. Good Black Bass in flooded vegetation, White Bass fair in the creek.

Cove Marina - Excellent Cat fishing with rod and reel in the river channel. Good Black Bass fishing in flooded vegetation at Thomas Lake on soft plastic and crank baits off points.

Most of the lake is clear now with good fishing in many areas. White bass have been schooling in mid lake areas and below the dam. Crappie are starting to come in the creeks and some excellent Large Mouth bass have been caught recently.

Bethy Creek Marina and Resort - Good fishing for Large Mouth on soft plastic around brush and cut banks. Some schooling White Bass in Bethy creek.

Harmon Creek Marina and Resort - Good Crappie fishing recently and lots of short Large Mouth Bass being caught in Harmon Creek.

Cove Marina - Good cat fishing on jug lines and some good Large Mouth taken up Carolina Creek on crank baits.

White Rock City Marina - Reports checking in a Large Mouth Bass tipping the scales at over 12lbs.

Broken Arrow Marina - Crappie beginning to come up the creek, fair catfish and some good Large Mouth to 5lbs. Key on wood and shade here.

Browders - Excellent fishing below the dam for schooling Whites and also good cat fishing on fresh shad.
